We decide to just take it easy and walk down to town for breakfast and a look around in the stores. After an hour or so of looking around it's off on a 4 mile walk around the lake to Frankton. It is a beautiful day and we wouldn't want to let our legs and feet have a day off, Ha!
It looks a lot closer than 4 miles.
Very unusual blooms on this bush.
Getting closer.
What incredible views.
Didn't know I was getting my picture taken in front of this little stone cottage.
Looking back at where we started which was actually around the other side of the mountain on the right.
About the time I think we're almost there it seems we're farther away.
Frankton sits at the base of these mountains which are called the Remarkables.
We ate lunch in the town of Frankton, bought some snacks at the store for our supper tonight and took the bus back to Queenstown to get our laundry done and rest our weary feet. Only 9 miles today!
It appears that it was a beautiful 9 miles. Wouldn't you love to live somewhere that had mountains and water? Oh well. Good old West Texas drought is what's waiting for you when you get home. Bet you can't wait!! :)
